Great Arab People/ Fantastic Buildings

Recently in Britain there has been a furore surrounding the outspoken comments made by the prominent TV Presenter and Journalist Robert Kilroy Silk, made in a column he writes for the Times Newspaper. Silk, a daytime BBC television chatshow host, and former Labour Member of Parliament, said that Arabs had never contributed anything to the world, and were all terrorists, 'limb amputators' and other derogitory terms. He was immediately suspended from the BBC, and laid low while the outcry subsided. There is talk of him being fired permanently as he is now seen as 'unfit' for public life, and he may be taken to court by the race relations organization for inciting racial hatred.

What struck me, apart from the idiocy of his comments, was how uninformed they are, and to prove it, I urge you to investigate the wonderful work of ZAHA HADID, a British resident Iraq born Architect, and incredible artist. Following on with my 'interesting buildings' theme, I thought she would be the most appropriate to illustrate the fantastic capabilities that come originally from the Arab World. She is fast becoming known as one of the most forward thinking Architects of the modern era, and her buildings defy gravity and the rules of science. I have nicked one picture, so I can show you how brilliant her work is, but I strongly recommend that you research her for yourselves, or at least follow a couple of the links below to see more examples of her style. Truly a great visionary in her field:
